Grants for Schools
K-12 schools, school districts and teachers are the focus here, with grants for classroom and curriculum projects, school safety, nutrition, arts education and similar needs. Federal education money comes in two forms: formula grants, which go to state and local education agencies by a set formula without a competition, and discretionary grants, which are awarded through competitions.
Much federal school funding passes through state education agencies, which run their own subgrant competitions, so state department of education pages carry many of the rounds listed here. Check whether a grant expects the district, rather than a single school or teacher, to apply. Classroom grants that teachers apply for are listed; scholarships and fellowships for individual students or educators are not.

Listed when the funder names schools, school districts, charter schools, local education agencies, teachers or educators as eligible applicants, or, when it lists no applicant types, when the title is about teachers or classrooms.
