Grant consultants

Every client’s grants in one place

Contract grant writers keep each client in a different spreadsheet, inbox and calendar. In GrantCue, each client gets its own workspace, and Portfolio shows all of them on one page: what each client has in progress, what is due in the next 30 days and what is late.

Who this is for

  • Freelance and contract grant writers
  • Grant consulting firms with several writers
  • Development consultants who manage clients’ grant calendars
  • Fiscal sponsors and capacity builders who support several organizations

What usually goes wrong

Every client lives in a different system

One client shares a spreadsheet, another a shared drive, a third emails Word files. Finding where a proposal stands means opening all of them.

Deadlines collide across clients

LOIs, proposals and reports for every client land on your calendar, but nothing shows them side by side until two fall in the same week.

Clients want updates you write by hand

A board chair asks what was submitted this quarter, and you rebuild the list from your notes again.

Admin eats billable hours

Time spent chasing documents and updating trackers is time you can’t bill for writing.

How GrantCue helps

GrantCue My grants board with example grants by stage, each card showing the funder, a priority and the days left

Every client on one page

Portfolio shows grants by stage, upcoming deadlines and overdue tasks for every workspace you belong to, plus your own next actions and the work waiting on others.

One tracker you can edit

Every client’s active grants in one table. Change a stage or priority without switching workspaces, and export it to CSV or Excel.

One calendar across clients

Deadlines from every workspace in one calendar, with reminder emails.

Status reports clients can open

A status report for each client, printed or sent as a link that expires after 7, 30 or 90 days.

Clients look without using a seat

Invite a client as a view-only member. They can follow their grants without changing anything, and they don’t use a seat.

Drafts from each client’s own material

On Essentials and up, AI writing works from that client’s profile and its own content library, which you can fill from past proposals, so one client’s boilerplate stays out of another’s proposal.

What GrantCue does not do

So you can rule us out in two minutes instead of two weeks.

  • Each client is a separate workspace with its own plan. A client with a light grant load can stay on the free plan; one that needs more seats or tracked grants upgrades on its own.
  • There is no time tracking or invoicing. Bill your clients the way you do now.
  • Portfolio changes only a grant’s stage and priority. Open an item to work on it in that client’s workspace.
  • Funder research starts from IRS 990‑PF filings, plus the community foundations and other public charities whose programs GrantCue has checked. It does not cover every grantmaker.

Questions

Do I pay once for all my clients?

No. Each workspace has its own plan. Many consultants keep small clients on the free plan and move a client to a paid plan when its workload needs it.

Can my client see their grants without a seat?

Yes. Invite them as a view-only member. They can see the workspace but can’t change it, and they don’t use a seat.

Can I send a client an update without giving them a login?

Yes. Each workspace’s status report can be sent as a link that expires after 7, 30 or 90 days, or printed.

Does GrantCue find grants for my clients?

Yes. Discover covers Grants.gov plus 188 state and state-agency sources across 49 states and the District of Columbia, and each client’s recommendations come from that client’s own profile.
