  • GrantCue does not submit to Grants.gov, Research.gov or eRA Commons — it is a tracking and preparation system, not a system-to-system submission path.
  • There is no effort reporting, cost-transfer, or labor-distribution module.
  • There is no subaward or subrecipient monitoring model.
  • There is no indirect-cost rate calculation or NICRA management; indirect cost is a budget line-item category only.
  • There is no IRB, IACUC, conflict-of-interest or export-control tracking.
  • Institutional approval workflows are generic internal stage gates, not eRA-style routing forms with AOR signature authority.
  • GrantCue does not hold SOC 2, ISO 27001, HECVAT or VPAT. If your procurement office requires them, we are not yet a fit.

Questions

Is this a replacement for Kuali, Cayuse or InfoEd?

No, and it is not trying to be. Those are institutional systems of record with compliance modules, effort reporting and system-to-system submission. GrantCue is for the teams that do not have one of those and are currently using a spreadsheet.

Can an individual PI use it without the institution buying in?

Yes. There is a free plan, and a single investigator or a single department can run its own workspace without any institutional procurement.

Where does the opportunity data come from?

Federal opportunities come from Grants.gov. State opportunities come from 105 configured state and state-agency sources covering 47 states and the District of Columbia, so coverage is strong federally and uneven by state — check your own state before relying on it.

Does it handle post-award reporting to the sponsor?

It tracks reporting deadlines, tasks and documents so nothing is missed, and it exports to Word, PDF and Excel. It does not generate federal forms such as the SF-425, and it does not file anything with a sponsor.
