Schools and districts

Grant tracking for schools where grants are part of someone’s other job

In most districts, grants are handled by a principal, a curriculum director or a business manager on top of their own work. GrantCue keeps the search, the deadlines and the drafts in one place, so a grant doesn’t depend on one person’s inbox.

Who this is for

  • District grants coordinators and business managers
  • Principals and curriculum directors who write grants
  • Charter and private schools
  • Education foundations and parent-teacher organizations

What usually goes wrong

Grants are nobody’s whole job

The person writing the grant also runs a building, a department or the budget. Deadlines are found late and applications are rushed.

Opportunities are spread across agencies

Federal education grants, your state’s education department and local and corporate funders each post in a different place.

Awards outlast the people who won them

A multi-year award brings reports due long after the writer has moved to another building or district.

Match and reporting rules decide what’s worth writing

Some programs need a local match or reporting a small school can’t take on, and you need to know before you write.

How GrantCue helps

GrantCue Discover showing example grant search results with fit scores, deadlines and a save button

One search for education grants

Discover covers Grants.gov plus 188 state and state-agency sources across 49 states and the District of Columbia, and you can filter by who can apply, so a district sees the grants open to school districts.

Match requirements up front

Each listing shows whether the funder expects a match or cost share, and you can filter on it.

Deadlines with an owner

Tasks with owners and due dates, reminder emails, and an ICS feed of grant deadlines for Outlook, Google Calendar or Apple Calendar.

Drafts and documents in one record

Proposal drafts, documents with version history and threaded comments stay with the grant, not in one person’s email.

A free plan for a single school

The free plan has no time limit. Paid plans add seats and tracked grants when a district’s grant work grows.

What GrantCue does not do

So you can rule us out in two minutes instead of two weeks.

  • GrantCue does not submit applications or reports. You file them through the funder’s own portal.
  • GrantCue holds no student data and doesn’t connect to your student information system.
  • Spend and match figures are entered by hand, except on the Organization plan, which can import expense lines from QuickBooks Online (read-only) and map them to a grant budget.
  • Coverage of state education departments depends on the state: 188 state and state-agency sources across 49 states and the District of Columbia are read today.

Questions

Does GrantCue list Department of Education grants?

Yes. Federal opportunities come from Grants.gov, which carries the Department of Education’s discretionary grant competitions.

Can a PTO or education foundation use it?

Yes. Most are nonprofits, so they can use the free plan, and the NONPROFIT code takes 25% off any paid plan.

Can a district pay by invoice?

Yes, on annual plans. Request a quote and pay by invoice instead of a card.

Does GrantCue track our reporting deadlines?

Yes. Add each award’s reporting dates as tasks with an owner, a due date and an email reminder, and they show on the calendar. GrantCue does not file the reports.
