Nonprofits

The same platform, with pricing built for the sector

Nonprofits are one of the four groups GrantCue serves, not a separate product. What is different is the pricing: qualifying organizations get free or heavily discounted plans, subject to eligibility verification.

Who this is for

  • Development directors, grants managers and grant writers
  • Executive directors who are also the grant writer
  • 501(c)(3) charities, 501(c)(6) associations and faith-based organizations
  • Consultants and contract grant writers serving several clients

What usually goes wrong

The grants function is a fraction of one person

In most organizations the entire grants operation is half to one full-time role, often a contract writer serving several clients at once. Anything that takes administrative time comes directly out of writing time.

Institutional memory evaporates faster than the grant period

A three-year award outlives two development directors. The successor inherits a report due in six weeks for a project they have never seen, with the submitted narrative sitting in a departed colleague’s inbox.

GrantHub shut down and the replacements all look different

Foundant discontinued GrantHub and GrantHub Pro on 31 January 2026. Teams that migrated in a hurry are still evaluating whether what they landed on actually fits.

Deadlines outnumber the people tracking them

LOI dates, full proposal deadlines, interim reports and final reports across a dozen funders, all tracked in a spreadsheet that only one person maintains.

How GrantCue helps

Free and discounted plans for qualifying organizations

Nonprofits and associations can qualify for free or heavily discounted plans. Eligibility is verified individually — email nonprofits@grantcue.com with your EIN or determination letter and we will size the right plan with you.

A direct path off GrantHub

A CSV importer that maps GrantHub fields automatically, bringing across grants, team members, activity history and documents.

AI writing that starts from your own material

Draft, refine, expand or condense proposal sections against your organization’s profile and past submissions, with a reusable content library so boilerplate is written once.

LOI and report deadlines in one calendar

A dedicated LOI deadline field alongside close dates, reminder emails, and an ICS feed the whole team can subscribe to.

A record that survives turnover

Submitted narratives with version history, funder correspondence in threaded comments, documents with version control, and an activity log that outlasts the person who created it.

What GrantCue does not do

So you can rule us out in two minutes instead of two weeks.

  • GrantCue has no foundation prospecting database. Discovery covers federal Grants.gov and 31 state and state-agency sources — it does not include private foundation profiles or 990-PF giving history. If foundation prospecting is your primary need, Instrumentl or Candid will serve you better.
  • There is no fund accounting, and no donor-restriction or net-asset tracking. GrantCue is not a replacement for QuickBooks, Sage Intacct or your accounting system.
  • There is no donor CRM and no Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce or Virtuous sync available to customers today.
  • Nonprofit pricing is a manually reviewed program, not an automated signup path. Expect to exchange an email with us.
  • Amounts entered for spend and match are hand-entered; nothing syncs from an accounting system.

Questions

Is GrantCue free for nonprofits?

There is a permanently free plan open to everyone. Beyond that, qualifying nonprofits and associations can receive free or heavily discounted paid plans, but it is verified case by case rather than granted automatically — email nonprofits@grantcue.com with your EIN or determination letter.

We are a 501(c)(6) association, or a congregation without a determination letter. Do we qualify?

Possibly. The program is not limited to 501(c)(3) organizations, and congregations that are automatically exempt without a determination letter can still be considered. Get in touch and we will work out what evidence makes sense.

Does GrantCue find foundation grants?

No. Discovery covers federal and state public funding. There is no private foundation database and no 990-PF prospecting. Many teams pair GrantCue with a prospecting tool for that reason.

We are leaving GrantHub. How hard is the move?

Export your data to CSV and import it — the importer auto-maps common GrantHub fields and detects duplicates. Most teams finish in under an hour. There is a step-by-step migration guide on the site.
