Abila Grant Management Pricing: What Is Published and What Is Not

What Abila Grant Management is, who owns the Abila brand now, what MIP Accounting's grant module tracks, and which replacement grant tools publish a price.

Abila Grant Management pricing is hard to find because no price for it is published. The product is a web-based tool for organizations that receive grants, built to integrate with Abila MIP Fund Accounting, and the Abila website itself has since moved under Momentive Software (NP Solutions reseller page, read September 2026; Momentive Software, December 15, 2025).

If you hold an old license, face a renewal or inherited the tool from a predecessor, the figures you can rely on are the ones you can get in writing: an itemized quote from Momentive, and the published prices of the tools you could move to.

GrantCue sells one of the tools compared below, so every competitor price here carries its source and the date it was read.

Quick Answer: How Much Does Abila Grant Management Cost?

Abila Grant Management has no published price (vendor and directory pages, read September 2026). The Abila brand now sits under Momentive Software, and the grant function Momentive markets today is the Grants Administration module in MIP Accounting, which has no public price either. For a figure, request pricing through MIP's demo page and ask for it itemized.

What Abila Grant Management Is

Abila Grant Management is a grantseeker tool: software for tracking the grants an organization pursues and receives, built to connect with Abila MIP Fund Accounting. It began as Sage Grant Management and took the Abila name when Sage Nonprofit Solutions became Abila in 2013 (ERP Global Insights, July 16, 2013).

The name changed with the company. Accel-KKR "acquired Abila in 2013 when the business, which provides software and services to associations, nonprofit organizations and governmental entities, was spun-off from UK-based The Sage Group plc" (Accel-KKR press release, April 7, 2017). A trade report from the time listed the renamed products: "The name Sage, of course, has been dropped, leaving Fund Accounting 100, Grant Management, Fund Raising 50, Millennium and Fund Raising Online" (ERP Global Insights, July 16, 2013).

Accounting Today described the product as "Abila Grant Management: a Web-based, grant-receiving solution that combines development, contact and financial data to enable users to improve a grant pipeline" (Accounting Today, October 16, 2013). A reseller page still lists its features, including "Grant Pipeline Management" and "Item-Based and Financial-Based Budgets," along with an integration with Abila MIP Fund Accounting (NP Solutions reseller page, read September 2026).

That profile tells you who the product suits: an organization that applies for grants, keeps its books in MIP, and wants the pipeline and the grant budgets in step with the ledger. It is not a system for running a grant program. The difference matters when you shop for a replacement, because Foundant, a vendor that sells to funders, says most grant management software is built for the funder side (Foundant, Grant Management Software for Foundations, first published April 17, 2024). A grantmaker platform will not replace a grant-receiving tool, however complete its feature list looks.

Who Owns Abila Now: From Sage to Momentive Software

The Abila brand now lives at Momentive Software, which says Abila.com has moved under MomentiveSoftware.com (Momentive Software, December 15, 2025). The line of ownership runs from The Sage Group to Accel-KKR, into Community Brands and then into Momentive Software, according to the companies' own releases.

The 2017 step reads this way in the release: YourMembership "announced Abila and Aptify are joining forces with YourMembership," with the three companies "combining to form Community Brands" (Community Brands press release, April 7, 2017). The next step created the current owner. Community Brands announced that TA Associates, a global growth private equity firm, would acquire its Association & Events and Nonprofit Solutions divisions "to create a new strategic platform, Momentive Software" (Community Brands, July 9, 2024).

The practical point is the paper trail. The product name you search for and the company that answers the phone are no longer the same, so contracts, invoices and support tickets from different years may carry the Sage, Abila, Community Brands or Momentive name, and all of them lead back to the same product line. When you ask for a renewal quote or a data export, give the product name and version exactly as your contract shows them.

Is Abila Grant Management Still Sold?

No Momentive or MIP page we read sells a product under the Abila Grant Management name, and none announces that it has ended (Momentive Software and MIP Accounting pages, read September 2026). What Momentive markets for grants today is the Grants Administration module of MIP Accounting.

MIP lists Grants Administration among its core modules and describes it this way: "Define customer segments to track grants your organization oversees. Improve your grant-seeking lifecycle. Manage multiple grantor relationships simultaneously and track each one with Chart of Accounts" (MIP Accounting, Core Modules, May 23, 2022). Momentive's current product page says MIP Accounting lets organizations "Track every dollar by fund, grant, program, or project without workarounds" (Momentive Software, MIP Accounting, February 3, 2026).

Two cautions follow. The module descriptions are older than the product page, so ask a sales contact to confirm the module is still offered in the form described. And a reseller page that still describes Abila Grant Management does not tell you whether Momentive sells new licenses or supports old installs. Only Momentive can answer that.

If your organization still runs an old install, put the questions to Momentive in writing. Ask which version you hold and whether it is supported, whether its records can move into MIP's Grants Administration module, and what that move costs. Written answers matter here because the product has changed hands more than once, and a promise made on a sales call does not travel well between owners.

Abila Grant Management Pricing in 2026

Neither Abila Grant Management nor MIP Accounting has a published price (TrustRadius and CrowdReviews pricing pages, read September 2026). The software directories that track prices send you back to the vendor.

TrustRadius's MIP Fund Accounting pricing page sends buyers to MIP's request-a-demo page "For the latest information on pricing" (TrustRadius, read September 2026). The CrowdReviews pricing page for Abila Grant Management, headed August 2026, says the vendor "has not provided their pricing information" (CrowdReviews, read September 2026). Price-estimate sites publish their own figures, but those are third-party estimates, not Momentive prices, so keep them out of a budget request.

A quote is only as useful as its line items. Euna Solutions, writing about grant software for state and local governments, says "Most vendors also charge separately for implementation, integrations with your financial system, and ongoing support" (Euna Solutions blog, April 24, 2026). MIP describes its product as a set of core modules, so the module question comes first.

Line to ask Momentive to itemizeWhy it matters
Grants Administration moduleMIP lists it as a core module; confirm it is in your bundle and how it is priced
Users or licensesAsk how licenses are counted and what an added user costs
Implementation and data migrationMoving records out of an old Abila Grant Management install is setup work
SupportConfirm what support covers, and for which version
Renewal termsAsk for any annual increase in writing before you sign

A good quote request names your current modules and version, the number of people who need access, and the date your current term ends. Send it early enough to price one alternative in parallel, so the renewal date does not make the decision for you. If a budget figure is needed before the quote arrives, use your last invoice as the baseline and mark it as a placeholder.

What MIP Accounting's Grants Administration Module Tracks

MIP's Grants Administration module tracks grants inside the accounting system, with each grantor relationship tracked through the chart of accounts (MIP Accounting, Core Modules, May 23, 2022). That puts grant details and spending in the same system, where Abila Grant Management reaches the ledger from outside, through its integration with Abila MIP Fund Accounting.

MIP says: "With our Grant Administration module, you can track details like grantor name, grants official, contact information, grant period, reporting periods, indirect cost rate, and more all from within MIP" (MIP Accounting, Nonprofit Reporting Software, June 22, 2022). Momentive adds that MIP Accounting "generates the financial statements and reports your organization actually needs: statement of functional expenses, budget-versus-actual by fund, and grant-specific reports" (Momentive Software, MIP Accounting, February 3, 2026).

For federal awards, the accounting side carries hard requirements, and they make a good demo script. Records must identify each award, including "the Assistance Listings title and number, Federal award identification number, year the Federal award was issued, and name of the Federal agency or pass-through entity" (2 CFR 200.302(b)(1), eCFR, current as of September 2026). The system must also provide "Comparison of expenditures with budget amounts for each Federal award" (2 CFR 200.302(b)(5), eCFR, current as of September 2026).

Federal requirementWhat it asks forWhat MIP's pages describeWhat to check in a demo
2 CFR 200.302(b)(1)Assistance Listings title and number, FAIN, year issued, awarding agency or pass-through entityGrantor name, grants official, contact, grant period, reporting periods, indirect cost rate "and more"Whether FAIN and Assistance Listings number have their own fields
2 CFR 200.302(b)(5)Comparison of expenditures with budget amounts for each federal award"budget-versus-actual by fund" and "grant-specific reports"Whether the comparison runs per award when one fund holds several awards
2 CFR 200.334Keep federal award records for three years from the final financial reportNot addressed on the pages readHow long closed grants stay retrievable after a migration

The per-award check matters most. A report by fund shows each award separately only when each award has its own fund or grant code, so ask the demo to show one award's budget against its actual spending. A budget-to-actual template for grants shows the same comparison built in a spreadsheet, and the overview of 2 CFR 200 sets these sections in context.

Alternatives to Abila Grant Management With Published Prices

Paid grantseeker plans with published prices run from Grantseeker Classic Premium at $19.99 a month billed annually to Instrumentl Full Lifecycle at $999 a month paid upfront annually, or $1,159 paid monthly (Grantseeker and Instrumentl pricing pages, read October 2026). They differ on what the price buys: tracking alone, tracking with a funder database, or tracking with post-award budgets.

Sources: vendor pricing pages (read October 2026) and TrustRadius (read September 2026); Fluxx demo page FAQ (page dated July 25, 2026).

Two of those rows are easy to confuse. Grantseeker dated its move into Fluxx "effective November 7, 2025" (Grantseeker, November 12, 2025), and the Fluxx FAQ's "Grantseeker starting at $6,000 per year" does not say which plan it covers (Fluxx demo page FAQ, July 25, 2026). Grantseeker Classic Premium at $19.99 a month, billed annually, is a different offering (Grantseeker pricing page, read October 2026), so quote the plan name with any price you write down.

The bundling question decides the rest. Instrumentl includes its funder database, "37k+ active RFPs & 450k+ funder profiles," on all four plans (Instrumentl pricing page, read October 2026). If you use Abila Grant Management to track your own pipeline and budgets, that database is an extra you pay for, an objection buyers raised in two Reddit threads (Reddit threads 1vydvxu and 1wiivcd, read September 2026). A separate guide compares the wider field of grant software for nonprofits.

Replacing an Old Abila Grant Management Install

Decide first where grant tracking should live: inside the accounting system, as MIP's Grants Administration module does it, or in a separate grant tracker whose budgets you reconcile to the ledger. Then export every record before any old system is switched off.

Fluxx draws the line between the two kinds of tool: "Grant tracking software helps organizations manage active grants, including deadlines, reporting, budgets, and team responsibilities. Grant management software is a broader category that may include both grantseeking and grantmaking workflows" (Fluxx, Grantseeker product page FAQ, read September 2026). Either way, the ledger stays the record of what was spent.

Export before you switch. Recipients and subrecipients "must retain all Federal award records for three years from the date of submission of their final financial report" (2 CFR 200.334, eCFR, current as of September 2026). Pull the pipeline history, budgets, reporting dates and attached documents for every award still inside that window, and store them where your auditor can reach them. The award records worth keeping together are listed in this checklist for the months after an award.

GrantCue covers the tracking half of that split and leaves the books in your accounting system. Every plan, Free included, has CSV and Excel import and export, so a spreadsheet of open grants can come across from an old tool, and every plan also holds post-award budgets and payment schedules. Paid plans start with Essentials at $49 a month for up to 3 users, and every new workspace starts with 14 days of Team free with no card needed (grantcue.com pricing, October 2026). The GrantCue plan list shows what each tier includes and leaves out.

FAQ

Is Abila Grant Management Still Supported?

Momentive's pages do not say either way. None of the Momentive or MIP pages read in September 2026 lists Abila Grant Management as a current product or announces an end date for it (Momentive Software and MIP Accounting pages, read September 2026). If your organization runs an old install, ask Momentive in writing which version you hold, whether it is supported, and how its records would move into MIP's Grants Administration module.

Who Owns Abila Now?

The Abila brand now lives at Momentive Software. Community Brands announced on July 9, 2024 that TA Associates would acquire its Association & Events and Nonprofit Solutions divisions "to create a new strategic platform, Momentive Software" (Community Brands, July 9, 2024). Abila had joined Community Brands when that company formed (Community Brands press release, April 7, 2017), and Momentive has since moved Abila.com under MomentiveSoftware.com (Momentive Software, December 15, 2025).

What Was Sage Grant Management?

Sage Grant Management was the earlier name of Abila Grant Management. When Sage Nonprofit Solutions became Abila in 2013, the Sage name was dropped from its products, leaving names such as Fund Accounting 100 and Grant Management (ERP Global Insights, July 16, 2013). Accounting Today described the renamed product as a web-based, grant-receiving solution combining development, contact and financial data (Accounting Today, October 16, 2013).

Does MIP Fund Accounting Have a Grant Module?

Yes. MIP Accounting lists Grants Administration among its core modules (MIP Accounting, Core Modules, May 23, 2022), and MIP says the module can track grantor name, grants official, contact information, grant period, reporting periods and indirect cost rate from within MIP (MIP Accounting, Nonprofit Reporting Software, June 22, 2022). No price is published for the module or the system (TrustRadius, read September 2026).

Is Abila Grant Management for Grantmakers or Grantseekers?

Grantseekers. Accounting Today called it "a Web-based, grant-receiving solution that combines development, contact and financial data to enable users to improve a grant pipeline" (Accounting Today, October 16, 2013). A foundation or agency that runs grant programs needs a grantmaker system instead. Foundant, which sells to funders, says most grant management software is built for the funder side (Foundant, Grant Management Software for Foundations, first published April 17, 2024).

How Do I Get a Price for MIP Accounting?

Request one from the vendor. TrustRadius's MIP Fund Accounting pricing page sends buyers to MIP's request-a-demo page "For the latest information on pricing" (TrustRadius, read September 2026). Ask for the quote itemized by module, users, implementation and support, and get any renewal increase in writing. Figures on price-estimate sites are not Momentive's prices, so leave them out of the comparison.

Get an Itemized Quote Before You Renew or Switch

Send the written request to Momentive first, with the Grants Administration module, users, implementation, migration and support as separate lines. While you wait for the answer, pick one alternative with a published price and, if it offers a trial, run it on a copy of your real grant list, not a demo data set.

Put the export date in the calendar before either contract is signed, and compare the two options only when both are priced on the same list of lines.
