The Joan M Wismer Foundation Grants

Grants may range from $2,500 to $25,000. In unique circumstances, the foundation may consider a larger grant for a program having a major impact in one or more areas of interest, generally only for existing grantees. The foundation generally does not fund 100% of a program or organization and generally will not approve a commitment longer than three years. Eligible applicants: Only organizations actively recognized by the IRS as 501(c)(3) nonprofits can be considered.; Schools, state governments, and churches may apply without valid 501(c)(3) status.; Individuals are excluded.; International requests are excluded.; Requests for playgrounds are excluded.; Requests for school security are excluded.; Requests for libraries are excluded.; Requests for endowments are excluded.; Local neighborhood projects are excluded.; General fundraising drives are excluded.; Food pantries are excluded.; Short- and medium-term food insecurity requests are excluded.; Retreats are excluded.; Camps are excluded.; Long-term care facilities and homes are excluded.; Developmental disabilities and care requests are excluded.; Health and medical requests are excluded, with eating disorders as the sole exception.; Mysticism-related requests are excluded.; Political advocacy requests are excluded.; Sexuality and diversity issues are excluded.; New applicants must attest that they have carefully read the guidelines, reviewed the FAQs, are aware of the application-process steps in the Application Instructions PDF, and that their request does not fall within an excluded area.; Applicants must agree not to share the application passcode with anyone outside their organization.; Uploaded documents must not contain JavaScript or macros and must not be oversized; these issues may cause an application to be rejected outright..
