Organizations may request funding for projects, beginning with a Letter of Inquiry for a project that is new to the Goldman Fund. Eligible applicants: Organizations should review the Fund’s current Interests & Priorities and Frequently Asked Questions before submitting a Letter of Inquiry through the application portal.; Each organization may submit only one request per year for consideration.; The Letter of Inquiry must provide the organization’s name, address, website, mission statement, annual budget amount, and federal tax ID number, or its fiscal sponsor’s name and federal tax ID number.; The Letter of Inquiry must identify the head of the organization and a primary contact for questions.; The Letter of Inquiry must include a project description of no more than two pages, with a brief narrative description of the problem statement and project, and state the total amount requested from the Fund.; The Letter of Inquiry must include the organization’s federal tax-exemption letter or a letter or agreement from its fiscal sponsor confirming the relationship.; The Letter of Inquiry must include a one-page itemized project budget showing committed and anticipated revenue and expenses for the full project.; The Letter of Inquiry must include a list of committed and pending grants for the project.; Applicants may submit a full Proposal only if their Letter of Inquiry advances and they are invited by email.; An invited Proposal must include an organization background summary and project information covering the problem statement, project description, goals, activities, timeline, evaluation, and relevance to the organization, community, sector, and/or field.; An invited Proposal must provide three to five references familiar with the organization’s work and project; references directly affiliated with the organization, such as Board members and paid consultants, are not permitted.; An invited Proposal must include an itemized project budget, project-funding list, organization annual budget, staff and salary information, Board list, recent month-end balance sheet, corresponding profit-and-loss statement, and the most recent audited financial statement if available.; The project budget, project-funding list, and organization annual budget submitted with an invited Proposal must be Excel files; PDFs cannot be uploaded.; To be eligible for capital campaign support, an organization must have personal financial contributions to the campaign from 100% of its Board of Directors and must submit a list of those contributions and indicate the number of years over which campaign grants are payable..
