The Letter of Inquiry (LOI) should describe the project - addressing its impact, effectiveness, feasibility, and sustainability. After review of the inquiry, organizations may be invited to submit a full proposal for consideration. Please refer to "What Makes a Strong Proposal" on the Trust's website (www.pipertrust.org). - For Responsive Grants, Eligible Organizations Must - A) BE LOCATED WITHIN OR PRIMARILY SERVING RESIDENTS OF MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ; B) BE TAX EXEMPT UNDER IRC SECTION 501(C)(3) OR AN INSTRUMENTALITY OF GOVERNMENT; C) HAVE BEEN IN ACTIVE EXISTENCE AS A 501(C)(3), UNLESS A GOVERNMENT INSTRUMENTALITY, FOR AT LEAST THREE YEARS; D) DELIVER PROGRAMS WHICH SUPPORT HEALTHCARE AND MEDICAL RESEARCH, CHILDREN, OLDER ADULTS, ARTS AND CULTURE, EDUCATION, OR RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS; E) NOT BE A PRIVATE FOUNDATION OR INELIGIBLE TYPE III SUPPORTING ORGANIZATION.
