- TO RECEIVE A DONATION FROM THE USG FOUNDATION THE ORGANIZATION MUST BE A NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATION WITH IRS 501c3 TAX EXEMPT STATUS OR A SIMILAR QUALIFIED ORGANIZATION IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: - COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY THAT GRANTS A FOUR YEAR OR HIGHER DEGREE IS LOCATED IN THE U.S. AND IS ACCREDITED. - HOSPITALS HOSPICE AND HEALTH AND WELFARE ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE ACCREDITED BY AN APPROPRIATE REGIONAL OR PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION AND PROVIDE A SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY. - CULTURAL AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS MUSEUMS ORCHESTRAS LIBRARIES HISTORICAL SOCIETIES PUBLIC BROADCASTING SYSTEMS PERFORMING ARTS CENTERS COMMUNITY CENTERS FOOD PANTRIES ANIMAL SHELTERS FESTIVALS ZOOS AND BOTANICAL GARDENS.
