Grants support Arts & Culture, Environment & Community, Education, Healthcare & Research, and Social Services & Basic Needs through capacity-building, capital and infrastructure, general operating, and program support. Grant size depends on project scope and organizational capacity; nearly 60% of grants are $15,000 or less. For large capital projects, requests of up to 10% of the campaign's private-philanthropy goal will be considered. Eligible applicants: Applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations working within the foundation's geographic funding area.; Organizations must operate within Island, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, Mason, Pierce, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish, Thurston, or Whatcom County in Washington State.; The foundation does not make grants to organizations for deficit financing or debt reduction.; Organizations not awarded a grant must wait one year from the decision date before submitting a new application.; Organizations receiving a grant payment after May 31, 2025 through the Standard Application process must wait two years from the final payment date before submitting a new application.; Organizations receiving a grant payment after May 31, 2025 through the Special Application process are asked to wait four years from the final payment date before submitting a new application.; Both applications require the upload of a fundraising plan for the organization and/or project.; Requests greater than $50,000 require a different application, and applicants must contact the foundation to obtain the password needed to access it in the online portal.; For a large capital project, the foundation will consider requests of up to 10% of the campaign private-philanthropy goal.; Requests must be submitted through the online e-grant system; applicants for whom an online application is a hardship should contact the foundation.. Geography served: Island County, Washington; Jefferson County, Washington; King County, Washington; Kitsap County, Washington; Mason County, Washington; Pierce County, Washington; San Juan County, Washington; Skagit County, Washington; Snohomish County, Washington; Thurston County, Washington; Whatcom County, Washington.
