Eligible applicants: Applicants must be nonprofit organizations located in and/or benefiting the state of Delaware and/or within a four-mile radius of Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.; Requests must help the nonprofit grow, strengthen, or improve its efforts and impact; Longwood does not provide routine general operating funding to support an existing level of operations and services.; Funding is not provided for explicitly religious purposes, events, endowments, or individual scholarships.; Whether approved or declined, organizations must wait two years between requests.; Applicants must explain what they seek to grow, strengthen, or improve, the resulting impact and measures of success, and how that growth in impact and operations will be sustained after the grant.; Applicants must demonstrate their capacity to execute, deliver, and grow as proposed; regional impact; sustainability; leadership; financial health; measurable outcomes; quality of planning; and experience and knowledge of the sector and community served.; Applicants must prepare a monthly or quarterly cash flow projection covering both the organization and proposed project over the grant period and explicitly state the assumptions underlying projected revenue and expenses.; Applicants must provide two to four quantitative outcomes or measures of success that are important to the nonprofit.; Longwood will provide up to half of the funding for the project and/or planned growth; applicants must explain how they will raise the remaining amount.; Grantees must submit one progress report and attend an end-of-grant meeting..
