Scholarship applications must be received by June 30th preceding applicants high school junior year.

Application materials

Grant criteria: grants are made to public charities and/or governmental entities for projects that are consistent with the foundation's mission statement. Preference is given to southeastern nm charitable organizations but does not exclusively limit grant recipients. Jack maddox distinguished scholarship program: an independent scholarship selection committee screens applications and selects up to 20 semi-finalists to interview. Of the 20 semi-finalists, up to 15 are awarded one-time $5,000 scholarships, 4 are awarded $20,000 scholarships over 4 years, and 1 is selected to receive the jack maddox distinguished scholarship award which pays full tuition, required fees, textbooks, and room & board. To support the four multi-year scholars and the jack maddox distinguised scholar in acceptance to their schools of choice, they are also provided a college counselor, cost reimbursement for attending a regional college fair, and up to $250 for college application fees.

Restrictions

Grant criteria: grants are not ordinarily made to individuals, for ongoing support of an agency, for endowment funds, or to other private foundations. Refer to the website www.jfmaddox.org for grant application guidelines and additional information on the application process. Jack maddox distinguished scholarship program: - candidates must have been residents of lea county, nm for at least two consecutive years prior to making application for the scholarships and must continue to be a lea county resident through graduation from high school campuses or registered home schools located in hobbs, lovington, eunice, tatum, or jal, nm. - candidates must have submitted a formal application in the required format by June 30. - candidates must either be natural born or naturalized U.S. citizens. Applications are assessed without regard to race, religion, physical condition, or national origin. Application forms and additional information is available online at www.jfmaddox.org.
