- Grant Criteria: GRANTS ARE MADE TO PUBLIC CHARITIES AND/OR GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES FOR PROJECTS THAT ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE FOUNDATION'S MISSION STATEMENT. PREFERENCE IS GIVEN TO SOUTHEASTERN NM CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS BUT DOES NOT EXCLUSIVELY LIMIT GRANT RECIPIENTS. JACK MADDOX DISTINGUISHED SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: AN INDEPENDENT SCHOLARSHIP SELECTION COMMITTEE SCREENS APPLICATIONS AND SELECTS UP TO 20 SEMI-FINALISTS TO INTERVIEW. OF THE 20 SEMI-FINALISTS, UP TO 15 ARE AWARDED ONE-TIME $5,000 SCHOLARSHIPS, 4 ARE AWARDED $20,000 SCHOLARSHIPS OVER 4 YEARS, AND 1 IS SELECTED TO RECEIVE THE JACK MADDOX DISTINGUISHED SCHOLARSHIP AWARD WHICH PAYS FULL TUITION, REQUIRED FEES, TEXTBOOKS, AND ROOM & BOARD. TO SUPPORT THE FOUR MULTI-YEAR SCHOLARS AND THE JACK MADDOX DISTINGUISED SCHOLAR IN ACCEPTANCE TO THEIR SCHOOLS OF CHOICE, THEY ARE ALSO PROVIDED A COLLEGE COUNSELOR, COST REIMBURSEMENT FOR ATTENDING A REGIONAL COLLEGE FAIR, AND UP TO $250 FOR COLLEGE APPLICATION FEES.
