Hilda & Preston Davis Foundation Grants

General organizational grants may range from $2,500 to $25,000 annually, with more significant grants considered in unique circumstances for programs having a major impact in one or more areas of interest, generally only for existing grantees. Grant durations are almost always limited to three years or less. Eligible applicants: Each applicant must be an approved tax-exempt nonprofit organization as defined by the Internal Revenue Service, or an organization exempt from such registration.; Applicants that are declined may not reapply for at least one year from the date of declination unless the nature or circumstances surrounding the request change significantly; a subsequent application must receive prior approval and fully describe those changes.; The applicant must have an active board of directors with policy-making authority, and the board should demonstrate competence in sound financial management.; Priority is given to requests showing specific plans for funding beyond the present.; Organizations promoting partnerships and collaborative efforts among multiple groups and organizations are of particular interest.; Larger grants may require a Grant Agreement Contract before payment and progress reports at least annually.; The foundation generally will not fund food pantries.; The foundation generally will not fund camps.; The foundation generally will not fund school security.; The foundation generally will not fund playgrounds.; The foundation generally will not fund health and medical research or treatment not focused on eating disorders.; The board is not approving funds for organizations not determined to be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.; The board is not approving funds for individuals.; The board is not approving funds for general fundraising drives.; The board is not approving funds for endowments.; The board is not approving funds for government agencies.; The board is not approving funds for organizations that subsist mainly on third-party funding and have demonstrated no ability or expended little effort to attract private funding..
