Short-term financial support addressing disruptions to essential community needs and services, strategic responses that sustain organizations or vital services, and collaborative structures for meeting complex needs with reduced resources. It provides gap support for nonprofits with an operating-sustainability plan and one-time operating or strategic-response grants related to funding disruptions, service transitions, collaborations, restructurings, consolidations, wind-downs, mergers, capacity building, pooled or aligned funds, planning cohorts, and shared services. Eligible applicants: Only prior France-Merrick grantees are eligible for the Fund; organizations currently funded through traditional grantmaking are also eligible.; Applicants must serve the Baltimore area.; Applicants must advance the Foundation's priorities.; The applicant's work or organizational structure must face risks and losses due to changes in public policy or funding.; Applicants seeking gap support must have a plan for operational sustainability.; The Fund is not intended to sustain programs or organizations affected by long-term funding cuts without a plan for future operating sustainability.; The Foundation will consider requests from organizations responding collaboratively in Baltimore to advance its Areas of Focus.; The Foundation does not provide funding for individuals.; The Foundation does not provide funding for special events or advertising space in programs.; The Foundation does not provide funding for deficit financing or debt reduction.; The Foundation does not provide funding for political activities.; The request must be 2–3 pages, submitted through the Foundation's online portal, written on official letterhead, and signed by the Chief Executive Officer or Executive Director.; The request must provide the legal organization name, mailing address, and 501(c)(3) Tax ID number of the organization or fiscal sponsor.; The request must provide the name, title, phone number, and email address of the person who can best answer questions about it.; The request must briefly describe the organization, including its mission, population served, scope of activities or programs, current organizational budget, and finances or work at risk.; The request must briefly describe the proposed idea or project and explain why and how it advances the Fund's aims and priorities.; The request must describe the funding loss or policy-change impact and the proposed pathway to sustainability, including committed funds, the gap, and outstanding requests.; The request must state the period over which funding is needed and the project's overall timeline.; Applicants must attach a list of the board of directors that includes professional affiliations, the percentage of board-member giving, and the amount contributed in the last year.; Applicants must attach the current 12-month organizational operating budget.; Applicants must attach the latest audit, if applicable.; Applicants must attach the IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter..
