Grants may support health care, education, youth organizations, developmentally disabled or handicapped people, social or human services, and community improvement. Grant types include one-time single-year project grants, start-up program grants under special needs or circumstances, and challenge or matching grants. There is no cap on the amount an applicant may request. Eligible applicants: Applicants must be nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status.; Applicants must use the Foundation’s current grant application; past versions will not be considered.; Applications are accepted only from May 1 through June 20 of each cycle year and must be postmarked on or before June 20; late applications will not be considered.; Applicants may submit only one application per year, whether or not they received a grant.; Applications must include a one-page cover letter summarizing the project or need for funds, the amount requested, and the project timetable.; Applications must include a completed grant application and all attachments listed on the application form.; Applicants that received funding in the previous grant cycle must include a Final Report if it has not already been submitted.; Applicants must submit one complete copy of the grant proposal.; Proposals must be securely bound without being bulky; loose pages, paper-clipped packets, three-ring binders, and other large packages are not permitted.; Proposals are limited to five pages, excluding required attachments.; Applications must be sent by regular first-class or Priority mail and must not be sent by any method requiring a signature, including certified or registered mail.; General operating funds are ineligible.; Grants to individuals for any purpose are ineligible.; International organizations without a qualified domestic Section 501(c)(3) representative are ineligible.; Private foundations are ineligible.; Endowments and other discretionary funding pools are ineligible.; Dinners, balls, and other ticketed events are ineligible.; Political purposes are ineligible.; Lobbying activities are ineligible.; Employee salaries and compensation are ineligible.; Purposes outside the Foundation’s listed funding priorities are ineligible.; Organizations receiving funds must provide a certified statement, signed by the nonprofit’s Board Chair and Chief Financial Officer or accounting firm, confirming that funds were used for their intended purpose no later than 13 months after the award.; The Foundation must receive the required report before another application will be considered.; Recipients of multi-year grants must file a Final Report annually until the entire grant has been expended..
