- To apply for a grant from the Foundation, applicants should review their applicable Grant Guidelines and submit the online application found at the following website: https://www.bangor.com/the-bangor-savings-bank-foundation/ Potential applicants must submit a completed grant application, including at least the following: (I) describing the initiative seeking support; (II) how the award benefits the region served by Bangor Savings Bank; and (III) attestation of 501(3) tax-exempt status. Applications are reviewed bi-annually. Prior applicants may reapply one year from the date of prior submission. Decisions on funding are generally announced within 45-75 days of each application deadline.
- Restrictions
- The Foundation considers applications for grants ranging from $2,000 up to $25,000, and focuses its philanthropic efforts on improving the vitality of Northern New England's regional and statewide economies through economic and workforce development in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Accordingly, the Foundation has a preference to support projects and initiatives in the following areas: (I) economic development; (II) education; (III) social and community services; (IV) culture and arts; and (V) health and wellness. The Foundation does not generally provide support for the following: political organizations; religious organizations or causes; sectarian purposes; endowments; salaries; scholarships; conferences; seminars; festivals, or similar events.
