Funding for social services, educational and medical organizations in Israel generally, and particularly in the partnership region of Afula-Gilboa, plus Jewish communities in need elsewhere, including the Former Soviet Union. Funded through several Endowment funds, including the Sophie, Joseph, and Mark Brinker Fund. Eligible applicants: Social services, educational and medical organizations in Israel (particularly in the Afula-Gilboa partnership region) and Jewish communities in need elsewhere, including the Former Soviet Union; Applicant organization must give its EIN and say where funds are to be sent if the grant is approved; Required application contents: project plan (title, amount requested, activities, timeline, measurable goals and objectives), project justification (need, target population, supporting statistics), potential for success (experience, qualifications of project staff, plan for collecting and analyzing data for the final report), detailed line-item project budget with narrative, current and prior-year organizational budgets, other funders applied to, long-term funding plan, marketing plan including how the Federation's participation will be acknowledged, list of current officers and board members, and revenue sources by percentage; New applicants only must describe the organization's history, mission and financial information; If the organization cannot match the dollars requested, it must state what in-kind donation of time will be offered and its in-kind value; Applicant must certify that the statements in the application are true and correct and that the project has been approved by its Board at a dated meeting, with signature.
