License for this folder GrantCue licenses its own contributions in this folder under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0). Summary: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Full legal text: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode This license covers the files in this folder, which belong to GrantCue's report Foundation Application Information 2026. Two other things on grantcue.com carry the same license: the foundation directory download (https://www.grantcue.com/foundations/data.csv) and the methodology page (https://www.grantcue.com/methodology). The rest of grantcue.com, including the foundation profiles, the blog and the templates, is covered by GrantCue's Terms of Service (https://www.grantcue.com/terms). WHAT THE LICENSE COVERS GrantCue's own work, to the extent copyright or database rights protect it: - the report text and the charts; - the data dictionary and the other documentation; - the figures GrantCue computed, such as totals, counts, medians, shares, quartiles and the class each foundation is placed in; - the selection and arrangement of the data: which foundations are included and how the files are organized. You may copy, share, adapt and build on this material for any purpose, including commercial use, as long as you give credit (see HOW TO CREDIT). The license cannot be withdrawn from anyone who follows its terms. WHAT THE LICENSE DOES NOT COVER 1. Facts from public filings. The data comes from Form 990-PF returns that private foundations file with the IRS and that the IRS publishes. The facts in them (names, EINs, tax years, amounts, states, and the answers given on the form) belong to no one. GrantCue claims no ownership of them, and you need no permission from GrantCue to use them. We ask that you credit GrantCue when you use our compilation of them. 2. Words written by others. Text from a filing, such as a grant's stated purpose or a foundation's application instructions, is the filer's own wording. GrantCue does not own it and does not license it. The files in this folder leave such text out. 3. The GrantCue name and logo. The license gives no right to use them, except to give the credit the license asks for. HOW TO CREDIT Name GrantCue, link to the source, mention CC BY 4.0, and say if you changed the data. For example: Data: GrantCue, Foundation Application Information 2026 (https://www.grantcue.com/research/foundation-application-information-2026), CC BY 4.0. To cite the report: GrantCue Team, Foundation Application Information 2026. GrantCue, 2026. https://www.grantcue.com/research/foundation-application-information-2026. Licensed under CC BY 4.0. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23475478 NO WARRANTY The material is provided as is, as section 5 of the license says. Filings can contain errors, and a foundation's policy can change after it files. Check a foundation's current guidelines before you rely on them. Questions or corrections: support@grantcue.com
